I feel like we have good luck with couches. The most we've spent on a couch is $20, and we've had some pretty nice couches.
When we moved to ucon, there was a couch already there. No, it wasn't the nicest thing ever, but it was comfortable. I spent many nights on that couch after Hyrum was born. Then we also got a couch/loveseat set from friends. They were nice as well!
A while after we moved to Idaho falls, we were at our local thrift store and noticed someone donating a couch. It looked decent, so we asked if we could have it. They said yes and offered to deliver it for us!
We loved that couch. But it was time to get rid of it. It started ripping and it wasn't as comfortable as it once was. Plus with our move to Wyoming, we had no room anyways.
When we moved, we only brought the necessities: beds, dressers, etc. Plus I brought my recliner, just so it's more comfortable to breastfeed Corbin. But that was it. Hyrum broke the recliner so now when you try to recline, it's an awkward angle, so not comfortable anymore. It didn't bother us when josh was gone. We just didn't need a couch. But now that he's home, it's been hard spending time in the living room together. The day after we got home from Idaho, we saw a post on Facebook, she was selling her couch for $20, so we snatched it up. We got that all situated.
The next day, josh was working and he delivered to this family. They happened to have their garage door opened and he noticed this couch/loveseat. And he asked them about it. And they said they want to get rid of it. And for FREE. So yes, we got another couches be for free. But we just got a couch. So josh decided to rearrange our bedroom and put the smaller couch in our room. So we went from not having any couch for 6 months to having 3 within a weekend! Holy cow!
