What happens in Vegas (doesn't) stay in Vegas?

This past weekend, Josh's company gave us an opportunity to go to Vegas. Every summer, Josh goes to Denver and sprays for a pest control company. Every year, they do this big vacation, and normally it's a cruise, but this year they chose Vegas. This is the first time we were able to go on one of these vacations with them. And this was an opportunity to go out of town and leave the kids. In the 6 years we've been parents, we've NEVER had a kid free over night before. Hyrum's gone to my parents at times, but by that point, we had Corbin with us. so this was a first!

We left Thursday. We left pretty early. We got Hyrum to school. Took Corbin to my parents place and then headed out. Nothing too exciting. We stayed at Josh's aunts house for the night. It was great seeing them!

Friday, we left our car at his aunts house. Josh's co workers and Boss came to pick us up around noon, then we headed down to St. George for the night. It was only about a 4 hour drive from where we were.

Friday, it was a pretty low key night. We just got to know all the coworkers, talk. They took us to a building that had different games, like air hockey, ping pong, etc. We played games (I destroyed Josh at air hockey. haha), and they provided pizza and bread sticks and soda for dinner. After we ate, they had a motivational speaker come and speak to us. It was very interesting. He's a retired air force, did over 300 missions in his 23 years doing it. He had some crazy and interesting stories. Very fascinating.

Saturday morning, we headed to Vegas. We stayed at a hotel that's pretty much right between the strip and Fremont street. Fremont Street was right out the door, but the view of the strip was incredible. That day, was basically do whatever we want, free time, whatever you want to call it. So we headed down to Fremont Street. There were some of Josh's coworkers that have never been there before, and since Josh lived there for 5 plus years, so we had fun showing them around. We went to bed really early though, so that was nice! hey, we didn't have our kids, so we can go to sleep when we want!

Sunday, mostly a chill relax day. They had plans for us later, which i'll get into in a little bit. That morning, we just went shopping, we took some people to see their family, and went to watch the airplanes land, which is always fun!

Later that night, we grabbed a quick bite to eat, and headed out to the hotel "Lobby" (well, it's a casino, but by the front doors). The company got us all (about 17 people total) a party bus. It was definitely a first for us! I'll show pictures, then i'll go into my experience...

So now time to get pretty raw. At first, I was really excited! i've always dreamed about doing something like this. Every time we were in Vegas, I'd get jealous of the people in the bus. It just looked like so much fun! It was...different. I wasn't anticipating it, but i had the WORST anxiety attack I've ever had. It was terrible. The people that i was starting to like and get to know, but i wasn't that close to them, the LOUD music, the drinking, the vaping, the dancing, someone even threw up right outside the bus. I've never been around that type of stuff, so it was EXTREMELY overwhelming. We did get to get out a couple times. We watched the Bellagio fountains, which is probably my favorite thing ever, so that was fun! then, we stopped at the Mirage and saw a volcano show, which is when my anxiety just exploded. I had to run to the bathroom, which luckily was quiet, so i was able to calm down. After that, I had to just keep to myself. We stayed close to the front, Josh ran the music. It was a lot to handle. We also stopped by the Vegas sign, which was a nightmare. And that certainly didn't help my anxiety. I was just a mess all night. And it went on for several hours. Probably around 7 pm-10 pm. It was the longest night of my life. I couldn't breathe. I would literallty just stop breathing. I also got a huge migraine from it, and 5 days later, I'm still recovering from that. GUYS. I've never experienced an anxiety attack that severe. So, I don't think we'll be jumping doing something remotely similar anytime soon. After that, just me and Josh went to M & M world, to get some souvenirs.

We left Monday morning, and headed back to Josh's aunts house for the night. We got home Tuesday night. While we were gone, my parents took the kids to Kansas and so we've had the house to ourselves all of spring break. They get home tonight! i've missed them like crazy, but i'm dreading the noise! haha.

It was a good trip. We made some friends, made some memories. I do wish i didn't have that attack, but other than that, it was a blast! but now, we're home, and the day after we got home, i was diagnosed with strep. I'm still not feeling very good. My throat has been killing so much that eating AND drinking has been a pretty big challenge.

Thanks to his company for doing this for us! it was desperately needed, and we enjoyed it!
