Thanksgiving, and other updates

ok! last post of the month, i promise!
In the first post, i mentioned how Corbin had an appointment on Josh's birthday. He's two, and can say only a couple words. So i started becoming concerned. Early September, i got him evaluated, because he doesn't talk, like kids his age. They evaluated him, and he was behind. He was developmentally a 12 month old (which, he's almost two! so definitely behind). They recommended getting him evaluated again around his second birthday. It was either schedule it for Josh's birthday (the 3rd), or wait until January. So we decided to schedule it for Josh's birthday. We go back, and he has hardly improved. He was now 13-15 months developmentally. So they recommended he gets evaluated more in depth. So they had the head person come out to our place, get paperwork, and we got that scheduled. It happened in the midst of our other stuff.
They came, evaluated. They did some different activities, and took notes. It was during his nap time, so it was rough. But they got what they needed. He is great for the physical stuff. But talking, was 15 months. So not much better than the last time he was evaluated. So now, we get to move on to therapy! woo! haha. The great thing about this therapy, is it happens at home! Which is so nice because i still don't have a car, and really hate asking anyone for rides. So it works out. It's only going to be 3 times a week for 45 minutes. It doesn't seem like a lot, but she'll also teach me how to work with him, so i can do stuff on our own time. And she'll show me how to use our stuff to work with him. With Hyrums therapy, she's great, but she uses a lot of things that we don't have and can't get very easily. So this way is much better, in my opinion. We start next week! wish us luck. I'll keep everyone updated!

Hyrum is still in occupational therapy. He has great days, where he's an absolute angel. But then he has some days, that are terrible. I mentioned this in passing. But i'll go into detail. A couple weeks ago, He was playing with brother. And they started getting wound up, and fighting. So i mentioned to Hyrum, very calmly, and said, let's go turn on a show in his room, and have some quiet time. He didn't like that at all. He runs into his room, slams the door (and i had a huge metal decoration on the wall, that flies off and breaks). A couple seconds later, i hear a HUGE crash. I go running in there, and he has thrown his tv, and it's broken! lovely. he had a huge meltdown. but now, he doesn't have a tv in his room. Which, honestly, i'm ok with, but i wish he didn't have to break his tv! That's just an example of how he can get. it's so rough! Even his therapist is stumped. We know something's wrong, we just can't pinpoint what. And i'm not sure who to even turn to. Our pediatrician? what can we do to help his anger??? gah. but i will figure it out. I WILL!

So thanksgiving was pretty fun! My family went home to Idaho. and we decided not to, because we went last year, and we want to go to his family christmas party this year (We leave in 6 days! yay!). So we stayed home, and invited our friends over. It was fun! we went shopping, meal planned. She made the turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, and he made a strawberry pretzel thing. I made rolls, mashed potatoes, cheese beans, and 3 pies (chocolate strawberry, banana cream, and of course pumpkin). We planned on eating earlier, because they were going to her moms that night, 2 hours away. But that ended up not happening, so we just hung out at home. It was fun. The kids were exhausting though! Happy thanksgiving! and happy holidays!
