Hyrum Patrick Long

Hyrum is growing up so fast! I've mentioned before that he has been dealing with behavior problems. But that was all I would say. I guess it's time to go into some more details.
About 3 months after josh left (so July), hyrums meltdowns got worse. He got violent. If something didn't go his way, he was MEAN. We've been scratched so hard we bleed. Nose has bled. He broke our DVD player, his door frame, his door. He threw Corbin into a door. It was awful. I went to bed crying because I couldn't control my son!
It finally got so bad, I called our dr office. They said yes, meltdowns are normal, but as violent as he is, isn't normal at all. So they had us go in and see them. They gave us a referral for counselor next door. It took us a MONTH to get in.
Finally, we go to our first appointment. Hyrum is a champ! And she is so good with him! We've had a couple appointments now, and he is doing great! He loves her. They work on telling apart emotions and breathing. She does some fun games that teach him. We're starting to see some progress. He doesn't have meltdowns as often, and not nearly as violent. Yay!
Also, something BIG. Hyrum is in preschool! He started yesterday. He's in the afternoon class. Goes from 12:30-4:30. And it's Monday -thursday. So a total of 16 hours each week. We think it'll be great for all of us.
His first day went ok. It was pretty easy to leave him. The teacher was able to distract him. He had a blast! They had spaghetti, salad, and French bread for lunch. And he just loved it! The 2nd day (today), he struggled with us leaving. But because he knew what was going to happen. We'll pick him up in an hour. I'm hoping today goes just as smooth!

Here's some other random pictures. We've been spending a lot of time out at notquitea (my parents 40 acre lot).
