The Hunger Games...

Me and Josh haven't had a date in a really long time and it's his day off from work, so what do we do? We had to go down to Idaho Falls and help his dad with homework, so we decided, why not? let's go see The Hunger Games. We just so happened to have a gift card to the Edwards theater, so why not? we've got nothing to lose. I have always loved the books and couldn't wait to see what they did in the movie. I haven't heard of many of the actors. I always said how Josh Hutcherson would make it big time, one day. and it's funny...no one believed me! haha...who's laughing now? ;) Well anyways...
The reviews have all said the same thing...how much they loved the movie. on my website (IMDb) that i always check before i see a movie, it got a rating of 7.9/10. and for them, that's high! even harry potter only got 7.4/10. And most movies dont even get above a 7. So i thought...why not see it? i LOVE the books, and great reviews, and the trailer looks awesome!

We pre-bought tickets online and we got it for 4 o'clock. We got there at 3:10, thinking it was gonna be super busy. But guess what?! it was NOT. no one came in to join us til 3:45. We were the only ones in there for 35 minutes! and of course, we got the best spot. The very top in the very middle. And even after people arrived there was only MAYBE 15 of us total. Wow. not very good for a big movie that just came out. We waited, and waited until the movie FINALLY started. And it goes like this...

the very beginning ran kinda slow and quiet. not much explaining of what was happening. Then the "reaping" came on the screen and ya. The acting was good, and i did shed a tear for that part, cuz i actually felt bad and whatnot. It made me cry! weird...Then the rest of the movie...complete blur! it was not good. it took forever for them to actually get in to the arena and the movie was 2 1/2 hours! i think my attention span just went crazy and lost. I was surprised.

Josh absolutely HATED the movie. He said he'd rather watch harry potter, which if you know Josh, he cannot stand that movie! He hasn't read the book, so it was a lot more confusing for him. He kept having to lean over and ask questions of what the crap was going on. The biggest part he didn't like was how the government played a huge part in their games, and things coming out of nowhere to try and speed up the process. He would rather have them just battle it, without their interference.

So overall, we didn't like it too well. I'm becoming more and more picky with movies. A year ago, i probably would've loved the movie, but now...not so much. I've been actually reading the books, getting prepped to see the movie, and now, i've decided the books not worth it! so sad, i absolutely LOVED those books! i'm hoping i'll get this movie outta my head, and i'll be able to hop right back into those books, with a fresh memory.

I will say, it was GREAT going on a date with Josh again. We haven't been out since Texas Roadhouse...BEFORE we left to Vegas! and that was a month ago! i think a date was way overdue. It was great spending the day with him!

As for other news, we think we're not moving to Montana anymore. Yes! i finally convinced him to NOT go! We think it'll just be best for us to move to Idaho Falls. There's jobs there for me, jobs for him (i think) and more houses. We were looking for houses in Miles City, and they had literally NOTHING there. I'm so sick of being homeless! i want my own place again :( so i just think IF would be nice, until we can save up and move to a big city and start our careers and lives there. i can't wait for that day :) That's all that's happening. I hope you had a great day! :) ♥
