So lets start a couple days before we were supposed to leave. We were supposed to leave on the 29th right? that's what i thought too. I had my schedule all worked out, what i'm supposed to do each day to get ready to leave. So the Monday before Josh decided to take me on a date, just the two of us. He took me to one of my faovrite restaurants, Texas Roadhouse. We've been watching the weather like a hawk, just to make sure it wasn't gonna change on us and we'd be stuck here and can't get out. Well...to our surprise there was a storm warning. Awesome, right? HAHA as if! So after done eating, gotta go say good bye to everyone cuz we had to leave the next day instead. While we were at his family's house in Idaho Falls, we realized he forgot his wallet at the restaurant! He never does that. And i was already stressed, since i haven't done any of the packing yet. That day my plan was do laundry and organize and the next day to pack and make sure all of our stuff were packed. and to top that all off, he decided to leave by NOON! How am i supposed to pack without his help in that short amount of time? talk about stress! But once that was all done, it was much easier to just sit back and enjoy the ride.
The first day we just drove to Orem, UT and stayed with his aunt and uncle. We left late, so we didn't get there til about 6. It was a nice, smooth ride. We went to the mall, since we had time to spare and we went and visited his brother and his beautiful children. I haven't had the chance to meet them yet since they weren't able to make it to the wedding, so it was nice to finally meet them.
The next morning, we woke up about 730 and headed over to visit my aunt, who invited us for breakfast to this delicious like bread/restaurant place called Kneaders. It was so good. we had fruit and this croissant with eggs, bacon and cheese in the middle. it was sooo good! At 9ish, it was time to hit the road, yet again. Our car performed extremely well. I was so pleased. When we got close to Vegas, Joshua (Who was driving yet again) told me and our friend who came along, Shirley, to close our eyes, since neither of us have spent much time there. I love when he does that cuz it's always a great surprise.
We got there about 2 in the afternoon. So i thought we did fairly good time. The first day there, all we did was go around and meet his friends, and the people he lived with when he lived there. They were all very nice people. It was a blast getting to know Josh better, since i saw more of the people he hung out with before he moved to Rexburg. I'm sure it was a nice blast to the past for him. That night, we hung out with the friends we stayed with. We went to dinner at a buffet in a casino. I can't remember what it was called but it was fairly cheap and it was decent too. i was shocked. It had foods from all parts of the world. Of course, i stuck with Italian and American. Pizza, pasta, and then another plate of mashed potatoes, prime rib and gravy. I know, i'm a pig. Actually, they weren't big servings at all.
That night, me and Shirley begged Josh to take us up by the temple. He did so and the temples kinda on a hill and there's little dirt hills on that. Josh made us close our eyes and we got on those and this is what we saw. Sorry picture's a little blurry, my camera was set on a night setting but wasn't good enough! it was absolutely gorgeous!
We had one more full day with Josh before he had to go to work, since we got there a day early. But the day after, (our 3rd day there) me, Shirley and one of Josh's friends that we're staying with, Leane all went to get pedicures! i wish i had thought to take pictures. it was a blast. and all our toes look so good now! :) It was also relatively cheap too. Like 3 more bucks then what it was where i went to school and it was more professional and just a blast! I'm looking forward to getting my acrylic nails done from them when i get the money. I can't wait!
The rest of my afternoons consisted of apartment shopping, hoping to find a place. There was one that was cheaper than the rest, but still more expensive then i was hoping for...and none of them include utilities in the price! ahh!! But no worries, once Josh is working for a bit longer, i think it'll be easier to get a place and a nice one too. Hopefully that day'll come soon enough. Living with people is nice, but i enjoyed having my own place.
The Nights were far more exciting. I think we went out every night and saw something new. We went to the strip one night:
Went to Fremont Street the next. It was different. I've never been there, but i've seen it on the show Sister Wives (i absolutely love that show...don't judge haha). That was definitely more scary than the strip. We saw all kinds of people there and more drunk people. I'm just not used to that kind of stuff since i've lived in good ole mormonville more of my life. But i am very excited to meet all kinds of people now. i forgot about my camera this nigh so there's no pictures for that. BUT we did try this delicious treat that i definitely recommend when you go...are you ready for it?! DEEP FRIED OREOS!! i know, sounds gross so i didn't get it myself, i was just able to try Joshua's and i wish i got my own. I had a frozen banana dipped in chocolate with nuts. It was delicious but COLD!
The night after, we hit the strip again this time, but we went South, instead of North. We saw the M&M world and the Coke Store. They have definitely changed since i was there several years ago. when i went last time, i got these awesome PJ pants that i absolutely loved. And just within the last year...they died. i checked and saw some of the exact same pants in there. I will be getting them again soon!
The next night, it was sunday and it was my last night there. Me and Joshua wanted to do something, since it'll be a couple weeks til we can see each other again. We just hung out and spent as much time as possible with eachother, but that was almost impossible. Nothing too exciting cuz it's Sunday. I didn't go to bed til like 1 or 2 and had to wake up at 445 because my flight took off at 640 am! so right now i am absolutely EXHAUSTED! The flight wasn't too eventful. I was so mad tho. Thru security they took my face wash away!! that cost 20 bucks and it was a great thing!! just barely used to. i saw online it said "maximum 8 Ounces" well...this was 6 ounces and they took it away saying it could only be 3.4 ounces! ugh!! and then we arrived just in time to board. Luckily we didn't have to sit down and wait, and luckily we didn't miss our flight either!
But now i'm just sitting at home, exhausted. I miss my husband so dang much. I'm sure hoping time flies so i can see him again..
